Effect.divSwap + IE6/7 = Headache (prototype 1.6.01, scriptaculous 1.8.1)
For some reason, when using the divSwap script from the treasure chest ( http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/DivSwapper ) IE6/7 doesn''t slide the div''s in and out correctly, getting the height''s completely wrong and totally breaking the menu. You can check out the page at http://ggl.sandbox.totalityeclipse.com/ If anyone has any ideas on how to fix it I would appreciate them! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Spinoffs" group. Also, is it possible to get CSS hover transitions with scriptaculous? Like the mootools fx.styles function. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Spinoffs" group. Any of the effects can be applied using any of the events to trigger them. Hover would translate to onmouseover. You can use an event listener to trigger it, or an inline script. Element.addMethods({ hover: function(element, callbackOver, callbackOut) { return $(element) .observe(''mouseover'', callbackOver) .observe(''mouseout'', callbackOut); } }); // usage $(''nav'').hover( function() { alert(''entering nav''); }, function() { alert(''leaving nav''); } ); - Ken Snyder P.S. You may want to wrap your callbackOver and callbackOut with some logic to prevent firing from child elements. (see http://kendsnyder.com/sandbox/EnterLeave.html) var callbackOver = (function(event) { var relatedTarget = $(event.relatedTarget || event.fromElement); if (relatedTarget != event.target && relatedTarget.childOf(event.target) == false) { callbackOver(); } }).bindAsEventListener(); var callbackOut = (function(event) { var relatedTarget = $(event.relatedTarget || event.toElement); if (relatedTarget != event.target && relatedTarget.childOf(event.target) == false) { callbackOut(); } }.bindAsEventListener(); --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Spinoffs" group.
