Hi, I have been using nnet and I was wondering if there are any prunning methods for a Neural Network that have been implemented in R or if someone has written a script, for example, Network Information Criterion (NIC), Optimal Brain Damage, Non-contributing units? NIC was used by Murata et al. for determining the number of hidden units in a ANN (IEEE Trans. Neural Networks, 5(6): 865-872). I have found both AIC and BIC in R, but not NIC. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how this can be done in R? I am training a network with 126 input variables.
