Dear all, I would like to use ''optim'' with method="L-BFGS-B". But I could not figure out, how to get the function value after any iteration, like You get them using method="BFGS"? That is set up differently for each of the optimization methods, and not available for L-BFGS-B. The best idea is to make your function print out the value each time it is called. -- Brian D. Hi again, sorry for my last unclearly formulated mail. Actually, when using optim with method="L-BFGS-B" I would like to get the new function value after each iteration step. For method="BFGS" there is the possibility to use REPORT=1. Is there something like this for method="L-BFGS-B", which I might have overseen?
