R help - Apr 2000 - No subject

Hi,
I am currently using version 1.0.0 for windows.
I am dealing with a large data set and I get the error message

Error: heap memory (6144 Kb) exhausted [needed 1595 Kb more]
       See "help(Memory)" on how to increase the heap size.

I looked the help but I didn't mange to increase the memory.
Can you please help?

If you start R from a shortcut, then the easiest way is to edit the
target field which usually says something like

c:\mumble\bumble\rgui.exe

to

c:\mumble\bumble\rgui.exe --vsize=10M

(otherwise *make* a shortcut to the R binary...)
