Hi, there, S+ has a function leaps which can be used for criterion based model selection. Is there an equivalent function in R? thanks in advance. Is there an equivalent function in R?leaps, in package leaps by Thomas Lumley from CRAN. (Actually, all leaps will do in either S or R is to find regression models of a given size(s) with small RSS, which is a lot less than `criterion based model selection': step() comes closer to that definition.) -- Brian D. It's in the latest version (and goes back to almost a year ago, if I recall correctly). You should check with help.start() before asking, to avoid embarassment. When you get the help, notice that subsets() is another function with similar output.
