Hi,
I am teaching a class using R on W95 PCs (April 97 version).
The software is, of course, great. But....the PCs seem to crash more
often when R is running than otherwise. On my own NT machine,
crashing is not a problem, but when the session is left open ---
even though no activity is taking place from my perspective ---
virtual memory appears to fill up (to the tune of 200 MB).
I wonder whether:
1) anyone else has seen this behavior?
2) does anyone know what I can do about it?
3) there is a Mac version that is compatible with the W95 version
(but does not crash)?

The R-FAQ has an interesting disclaimer that I had
discounted, but which in hindsight appears to be
