Hello, I am new to this list so I apologize if my questions have been asked and answered already. I am currently reading the book Modern Applied Statistics with S-Plus by Venables and Ripley which I think is absolutely wonderful. I downloaded the S-Plus code that accompanies the book and tried to get some of it running under R, without success so far. Has anyone ported any of the code from this book to R, and if so, would they be willing to share it? I am mainly interested in the discriminant analysis, neural net, and other classification functions. Is anyone aware of R implementations of these or related functions? Thank you for your help.
