R devel - Oct 2005 - md5sum for R-2.2.0-win32.exe ??

I get

 	c1279b77fcccf40379f59a83523a440e *R-2.2.0-win32.exe

but I see

 	e8bdf765fe8013129045314c8e2605fd *rw2011.exe

on several USA  mirrors.

I hope the latter is merely in need of a replacement and not an 
indication of a problem with the web sites.

No, that was my error.  It's fixed now, and my md5sum agrees with yours.

Are you saying that you'd expect different versions of R to have the
same md5sum?... ;-)

CRAN master has the old md5sum.txt as well, so I guess that the
Windows maintainer just forgot to update it.

Incidentally, I don't think it's all that smart to have the md5sum
in the same location as the binary. If one is tampered with, the other
one could be too. For the main release, I always send the md5sums via
the mailing lists.
