In e1071 package/svm default epsilon value is set to 0.1 and not 0.5
as documentation says.

Fixed in 1.3-15 (set to 0.1).

Support Vector Machines

Description:

     'svm' is used to train a support vector machine. It can be used to
     carry out general regression and classification (of nu and
     epsilon-type), as well as density-estimation. A formula interface
     is provided.

the *package* version (e1071) is relevant here, not the version number  
of R. Actually, the documentation bug you have reported has already  
been fixed in 1.3-14 (which is the current version on CRAN).
