This is not reproducible.
Could you do a traceback() ? And please make sure you start with an empty
workspace. I very much doubt it's a lattice problem, since bwplot is not
supposed to call segments() at any point.
A wild guess would be that you are using some sort of S-PLUS code without
telling us.
