R devel - Dec 2001 - configure: sed: Function s%@PDFLATEX@%/usr/local/bin/pdflatex%g (PR#1222)

Sometimes, configure isn't able to create the makefiles. It
produces errors like:

sed: Function s%@PDFLATEX@%/usr/local/bin/pdflatex%g cannot be parsed.

This happens when I use a combination of arguments to configure like:

    --prefix=$HOME/R-tst
    --with-tcl-config=/opt_local/opt/tcl/lib/tclConfig.sh
    --with-tk-config=/opt_local/opt/tk/lib/tkConfig.sh

If I leave out the last two arguments, the problem does not
occur.

If I change the first argument to --prefix=$HOME/Rtst, the
problem does not occur.
