Just thought people might be interested to know that the latest version of R-win now runs under Wine, the windows emulator for Linux (ver. 20001202). (I originally tried this a couple of releases back because a student seemed to be having system-specific problems and I was attempting to be lazy.) The recent switch from crtdll to msvcrt seems to have helped with Wine compatibility. I didn't test it extensively: looked at the graphics demos (there were some missing-font problems) and a few other things. (So, if you *really* want a GUI front-end under Linux, this might be one way to do it ...) -- 318 Carr Hall bolker@zoo.ufl.edu Zoology Department, University of Florida http://www.zoo.ufl.edu/bolker Box 118525 (ph) 352-392-5697 Gainesville, FL 32611-8525 (fax) 352-392-3704 -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
