And the bug is? I am baffled! Please read the section on BUGS in the FAQ.
Acting as documented is not a bug, nor is giving an error message when a
function is used incorrectly.
A panel function is documented as
panel: `function(x,y,...)' which is used to plot the contents of
each panel of the display.
Note *contents*. I don't think qqplot qualifies, so you get a message
about your error. You probably want (untested)
panel.qqplot <- function(x, y, ...)
{
res <- qqplot(x, y, ..., plot.it = FALSE)
points(res$x, res$y)
}
