Hi, Sorry for responding so late, but I've been in meetings all day long. The decision to ask for latex articles was deliberate, because I've to deal with MS-Word files from time to time and know of no clean way of converting it to Latex without a lot of manual intervention (and the newsletter itself will be produced in latex). We will make a template for articles available together with the first edition of the newsletter (which we want to publish mid-January). So prospective authors who are not literate in Latex: please wait one month ... Answers to other questions: 1) Graphics are preferred in PDF or EPS format, bitmaps like JPG are alo OK but please keep in mind that those cannot be scaled easily and hence might look ugly in the final version. 2) Articles should be sent by email to Kurt Hornik or me. 3) Articles will be reviewed by the editors. I hope this clarifies some points and that such a lot of interest also means that we will see (and enjoy to read) a lot of interesting articles!
