I've been getting a seg fault with R-devel. It was happening in the snapshot from a few weeks ago and I just tried today's snapshot hoping it had been found and fixed, but it persists. The problem seems to be with garbage collection as it does not always happen in the same place, but happens regularly with some tests which use a lot of memory. Sorry I cannot provide more details as I have not been able to pin it down any better than this. If this is not a known problem and someone will suggest how to proceed then I can try, but I'm over my head with this sort of problem.
