prob./distr./quant./ran.num: S compatibility in argument names??
Several of R's p/d/q/r (probability/density/quantile/random.number) functions have argument names different from the ones S(-plus) uses [e.g., pf(.), rbinom(.)]. Does everyone agree that we want to become compatible here? Any volunteer for changing this in R? If you do, please give us/me a not, and please get a current snapshot of the R development version from <<CRAN>>/src/devel/R-snapshot.tar.gz e.g. http://franz.stat.wisc.edu/pub/R/src/devel/R-snapshot.tar.gz and edit src/library/base/R/distn.R and the MANY documentation files (where necessary) Beta.Rd Binomial.Rd Cauchy.Rd Chisquare.Rd Exponential.Rd F.Rd GammaDist.Rd Geometric.Rd Hypergeometric.Rd Logistic.Rd Lognormal.Rd NChisquare.Rd NegBinomial.Rd Normal.Rd Poisson.Rd T.Rd Uniform.Rd Weibull.Rd in src/library/base/man/*.Rd ------- Thanks in advance!
