I have posted current tarball of the CVS code base with 2 patches for Compilling QEMU on a 64-bit system (automagically), as well as a current tree for KQEMU and libSDL-1.2.12 in the download section. I have also posted some proof of concept files and scripts for using the TAP interface with Solaris and QEMU, for both TAP (local host access) and BRIDGE (local net access), along with an "Understanding Networking in a QEMU Guest" to help guide your configuration for the client. Comments welcome. Ben -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

[qemu-discuss] Re: Updates to Downloads, and other How-to''s
hello, i''m trying to compile qemu on Solaris 10 U2 on ultra 20 (amd64), but configure failed: caiman-henry% ./configure --prefix=/tmp/qemu --target-list=x86_64-softmmu,i386-softmmu --disable-gcc-check Install prefix /tmp/qemu BIOS directory /tmp/qemu/share/qemu binary directory /tmp/qemu/bin Manual directory /tmp/qemu/share/man ELF interp prefix /usr/gnemul/qemu-%M Source path /home/henry/qemu C compiler gcc Host C compiler gcc make gmake install ginstall host CPU x86_64 host big endian no target list x86_64-softmmu i386-softmmu gprof enabled no profiler no static build no SDL support no mingw32 support no Adlib support no CoreAudio support no ALSA support no DSound support no FMOD support no OSS support no kqemu support yes Documentation yes ERROR: QEMU requires SDL or Cocoa for graphical output To build QEMU without graphical output configure with --disable-gfx-check Note that this will disable all output from the virtual graphics card. but SDL is here, i compiled it as explained on web site: caiman-henry% which sdl-config /opt/local/bin/amd64/sdl-config caiman-henry% sdl-config --version 1.2.12 Anybody can help? The same thing works on Nevada b56 without compiling SDL (SDL from blastwave, 32 bits) thanks, gerard -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

The same thing works on Nevada b56 without compiling SDL (SDL from blastwave, 32 bits)I was not aware that Qemu can be built on 64-bit system as a 32-bit binary using blastwave''s gcc and using a 32-bit libSDL, but it''s not unreasonable to expect. I have some patches that have not been integrated yet for compiling 32-bit QEMU on a 64-bit host, but we ran into a problem with gcc from /usr/sfw/bin failing the compile (which has been documented on the site) and I don''t have blastwave''s gcc on that S10U2 system. I''ll see if I can do something about testing that... Ben
