Puppet users - Jul 2008 - Parser Functions

Hi All,

Just wanted to put feelers out to see how many people would be 
interested in having some more extended string operations added to the 
mainline. e.g. gsub/split..

Also kinda wanted to wave my arms around at Luke, and see if there was 
any particular reason for not having this functionality already?

Do we prefer to allow the users to set this kind of stuff up themselves? 
Does it introduce bad behaviour?

I am slowly adding DavidS'' functions to the core.  Will get to these
RSN
  - probably when I get a chance to add some tests.
