Hi all, we activated puppet mail reports but we are receiving a lot of mails when yum fails to update the repos, like this one: (err): Failed to retrieve current state of resource: Could not get latest version: Execution of ''/usr/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 list available munin-node'' returned 1: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: kbs-CentOS-Extras failure: repodata/repomd.xml from kbs-CentOS-Extras: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try. there''s any way to say puppet don''t send that messages? we also receive a lot of messages like that when something goes wrong while getting files from puppetmaster: Fri Jun 08 09:13:29 +0200 2007 //node.domain.com/anynode/bash/remotefile[/usr/local/arxiver/.bashrc]/File[/usr/local/arxiver/.bashrc]/source (err): Could not describe /dist/common/bashrc: End of file reached:

You could easily create your own version of the tagmail report. Look in lib/puppet/reports/, copy tagmail.rb to yourtagmail.rb or whatever, make the modifications you want, and use that instead of tagmail.> Fri Jun 08 09:13:29 +0200 > 2007 //node.domain.com/anynode/bash/remotefile[/usr/local/ > arxiver/.bashrc]/File[/usr/local/arxiver/.bashrc]/source (err): > Could not describe /dist/common/bashrc: End of file reached:This is likely because webrick is killing connections when it gets overloaded. You could try mongrel (which currently requires a couple of small patches -- see UsingMongrel on the wiki). You''ll probably want to run multiple mongrel instances. -- It''s not that I''m afraid to die. thanks for the reply, I had written a method to filter the unwanted messages and now the reports are more useful, I paste my tagmail.rb for anyone that needs it: http://pastie.caboo.se/71354 El lun 18 de 06 del 2007 a les 00:09 -0500, en/na Luke Kanies va escriure:> On Jun 8, 2007, at 3:41 AM, Lluis Gili wrote: > > > Hi all, > > we activated puppet mail reports but we are receiving a lot of mails > > when yum fails to update the repos, like this one: > > > > (err): Failed to retrieve current state of resource: Could not get > > latest version: Execution of ''/usr/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 list available > > munin-node'' returned 1: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for > > repository: > > kbs-CentOS-Extras > > failure: repodata/repomd.xml from kbs-CentOS-Extras: [Errno 256] No > > more > > mirrors to try. > > > > there''s any way to say puppet don''t send that messages? we also > > receive > > a lot of messages like that when something goes wrong while getting > > files from puppetmaster: > > (Sorry for the glacial response.) > > You could easily create your own version of the tagmail report.
