Hi, I''ve recently started seeing a bunch of err messages when running puppet about "Could not find a default provider" for user/group. Not sure what is going on, these are all FC5 hosts, with /usr/sbin/ useradd Any idea why puppet isn''t detecting this and setting it as the default provider? Using puppet 0.22.1 (from FC5 rpms)... which BTW still have lockdir in the config which has to be removed manually. --jason

Yup... I keep forgetting that `ssh <host> <command>` does not execute a shell for <command>, so no profile information is picked up. --jason On Feb 14, 2007, at 6:32 PM, David Lutterkort wrote:> On Wed, 2007-02-14 at 16:19 -0800, Jason Dillon wrote: >> Hi, I''ve recently started seeing a bunch of err messages when running >> puppet about "Could not find a default provider" for user/group. > > This usually means that you don''t have /sbin:/usr/sbin on the PATH > that > puppet is running with (e.g. if you run puppet as a normal user or if > you run puppet under su without the ''-l'' option). > > David > > > _______________________________________________ > Puppet-users mailing list > Puppet-users@madstop.com > https://mail.madstop.com/mailman/listinfo/puppet-users
