Hi all, I''m having trouble with a particular recipe, but I don''t know which one! I''m not getting an error message, puppetd simply hangs (does not respond, needs a kill -9 to stop). These same recipes work correctly on other nodes (no problems there). Now I wanted to find the exact line that causes the problem, but I seem to be unable to make puppetd log the resource *before* he actually starts doing them... Any tips on this? If I could see which part of my recipe puppet stays at, I could debug further... Any help is greatly appreciated! -- Gegroet, Tim _______________________________________________ Puppet-users mailing list Puppet-users@madstop.com https://mail.madstop.com/mailman/listinfo/puppet-users

If not that might help diagnose what''s going on. $ sudo puppetd -v -o --debug --noop Another thing you could do is check syntax with: $ sudo puppet --parseonly site.pp Kent -- "It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can stop him from lynching me, and I think that''s pretty important." - Martin Luther King Jr.

In fact, there''s not currently even any way to force any logging, before or after, on all resources. The debugging system needs to be completely revamped to support multiple kinds of debugging, and this should be one of them. -- If there is anything the nonconformist hates worse than a conformist, it''s another nonconformist who doesn''t conform to the prevailing standard of nonconformity. --Bill Vaughan --------------------------------------------------------------------- Luke Kanies | http://reductivelabs.com | http://madstop.com
