pkg kde talk - Jul 2005 - KDE 3.4.2 orig.tar.gz now available on Alioth

Hello,

Tarballs for KDE 3.4.2 are now being uploaded to the kde-3.4.2 folder on 
Alioth. These were created by removing each package''s debian folder,
and
also removing some non-free images from kdeartwork. If I''ve forgotten 
anything, let me know.

These will allow us to update the packaging as necessary (relative to 3.4.1, 
probably just a few new/moved files to install, if that) for the upcoming 
3.4 uploads to unstable (as part of the gcc 4.0 transition). Since Qt has 
yet to be uploaded, there is no rush on rebuilding all of KDE and putting 
it on Alioth, but hopefully these tarballs will make it easier for people 
to play around until things have progressed.

publically
  accessible. It''s a bit stupid, I know, since all the files are
  available from SVN, and their exact versions because of the tag.
  Still, we''ve traditionally not published them until the were made
  public by kde.org as well.

  OTOH, if Christopher and others feel this is _way_ to silly, perhaps
  it''s time to talk in -packager to see what can be done.

IMHO we have more urgent/important/subtle topics to discuss on -packager 
than those practices (like the GFDL issues or handling of debian/ 
dirs ...)
