On the same issue, are failed validity checks logged? If I gravely mutilate the source files update-exim4.conf takes a long time to complete and generates a blank (comments only) config.autogenerated file, but I can''t see any error logged in /var/log/messages or /var/log/exim4. I''m in the process of migrating from Red Hat and sendmail to Debian and Exim so please be patient if this is a naive question. Management have decided to change the company they use to catch all the spam and viruses we would otherwise get if we didn''t use such. This is fine - I''ve changed the configuration and the MX records and it appears to be working fine - inbound. What I need to know is if Exim4 can be configured to have multiple upstream smart hosts. I would know how to configure it to use a single smart host - but the new provider would like us to specify outgoing priorities if possible. So dpkg-reconfigure isn''t going to do the job. If anyone can point me at a section of manual page or anything that allows me to do this - I''d be very grateful. Thanks. Regards Neil

You can do the same thing with the hosts option of the smtp transport. Tony. -- f.a.n.finch <dot@dotat.at> http://dotat.at/ ROCKALL BAILEY: WESTERLY 6 OR 7 DECREASING 4 OR 5.
