Pkg exim4 users - Jun 2005 - exim4 with 2 spools, msglog problem

We have a working configuration with exim4 (4.34, heavy-daemon) and
MailScanner 4.22-5
exim runs with 2 spools, separated via the /etc/init.d/exim4 script -
separate queue-runner starts with -bd -odq -DSPOOL=3D/var/spool/exim4in

First Problem: the DSPOOL macro always put=B4s a DIR at the end of the path to
where it is working - in this case it is /var/spool/exim4inDIR (does it also
from the commandline with exim -bp -DSPOOL)

Second Problem: the /var/spool/exim4inDIR/msglog keeps all logs though all
messages are proceeded successfully

Is it save to rm the old logs, or is there a proper way, to tell exim to
take care of it?
