Pkg exim4 users - Jun 2005 - Exim-Clamav big attached file problem

Hi,

I''ve installed Exim+Clamav+SA, and I have a Multifunctional that scans
to
email en pdf format. I scanned some docs to send it to my email, the mails
are 5-6 mb size, but the multifunctional doesn''t stop to send the same
message with the pdf document inside. I believe that multifunctional does
not recognize that the message was completely sent, because of the long time
it takes to the server to receive the message.

I try to reduce the size of the ArchiveMaxFileSize to 1M, instead of the
default of 10M, but I start to receive this message 2005-06-20 18:26:34
1DkVeX-0005hY-TB malware acl condition: clamd: unable to con
nect to UNIX socket /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl (Connection refused)
and I have to restart the clamav daemon.

Why clamav daemon stop running?
How can I fixed? Is there a way to stop clamav to scan files with pdf
extension? Is there a better solution?

condition = ${if <{$message_size}{200k}{1}{0}}
before every single invocation of
malware = ...


e.g. instead of

   deny message = This message contains malware ($malware_name)
        malware = *

use this:

   deny message = This message contains malware ($malware_name)
        condition = ${if <{$message_size}{200k}{1}{0}}
        malware = *
