Nut upsuser - Dec 2022 - Compiling on Solaris 8 sparc - configure errors

Shutdown worked as expected !  I did an fsd on the primary and I immediately
heard the SS20 furiously clicking away doing a shutdown.

This looks like the mailing list version of live-tweeting some news-worthy  
event (running modern code on historic hardware).
