[Nut-upsuser] [EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite "Remote Shutdown" when USB cable is attached
So confused. Downloaded Ubuntu 20.04 (ubuntu-20.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso) and booted my laptop to a liveCD environment. Watched all the systems logs and plugged in. UPS did it's "REMOTE SHUTDOWN". Nothing of interest in the logs. Unplugged the USB and waited about 5m. Plugged USB back into my laptop, nothing, unplugged... Rebooted the LiveCD environment, plugged USB back into my laptop, nothing, unplugged... VERY stumped, plugged the USB cable back into my NAS, and everything is happy. I know the problem is still there. I know it's going to bite me again, but I can't seem to reliably trigger it. Very frustrating. Thoughts? Just to make sure I'm covering all my bases: Neither of you are using a network card, RS232 serial connection, or EPO connection to the UPS, correct? Assuming no, that narrows down things for me to focus on. As an aside: if anyone else on the mailing list either uses these models (Tripp Lite 4004 USB protocol with LCD screens) and sees the problem or does NOT. would be an interesting data point.
