[Nut-upsuser] [EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite "Remote Shutdown" when USB cable is attached
On a quick check, I'm not seeing the problem with Ubuntu 20.04.1 and an SU1000RTXLCD2U (4004 for USB). Reboot the box and disconnect/reconnect cable were both ok. I'll look into it more. $ lsusb -d 09ae:4004 Bus 003 Device 007: ID 09ae:4004 Tripp Lite TRIPPLITE UPS $ sudo upsc myups Init SSL without certificate database battery.charge: 100 battery.charge.low: 88 battery.charge.warning: 20 battery.runtime: 48960 battery.temperature: 26.9 battery.type: PbAc battery.voltage: 27.0 battery.voltage.nominal: 24.0 device.mfr: TRIPPLITE device.model: TRIPPLITE UPS device.serial: 2928JLCPS795000132 device.type: ups driver.flag.ignorelb: enabled driver.name: usbhid-ups driver.parameter.pollfreq: 30 driver.parameter.pollinterval: 2 driver.parameter.port: auto driver.parameter.synchronous: no driver.version: 2.7.4 driver.version.data: TrippLite HID 0.82 driver.version.internal: 0.41 input.frequency: 59.9 input.transfer.high: 150.0 input.transfer.high.max: 150 input.transfer.high.min: 145 input.transfer.low: 55.0 input.transfer.low.max: 60 input.transfer.low.min: 55 input.voltage: 125.0 input.voltage.nominal: 115 output.current: 0.0 output.frequency: 59.9 output.frequency.nominal: 60 output.voltage: 115.0 output.voltage.nominal: 115 ups.beeper.status: enabled ups.delay.shutdown: 20 ups.delay.start: 30 ups.firmware: 64 ups.load: 0 ups.mfr: TRIPPLITE ups.model: TRIPPLITE UPS ups.power: 0.0 ups.power.nominal: 1000 ups.productid: 4004 ups.serial: 2928JLCPS795000132 ups.status: OL ups.timer.reboot: 0 ups.timer.shutdown: -1 ups.timer.start: 0 ups.vendorid: 09ae ups.watchdog.status: 0 $ cat /etc/os-release NAME="Ubuntu" VERSION="20.04.1 LTS (Focal Fossa)" ID=ubuntu ID_LIKE=debian PRETTY_NAME="Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS" VERSION_ID="20.04" HOME_URL="https://www.ubuntu.com/" SUPPORT_URL="https://help.ubuntu.com/" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/" PRIVACY_POLICY_URL="https://www.ubuntu.com/legal/terms-and-policies/privacy-policy" VERSION_CODENAME=focal UBUNTU_CODENAME=focal Thank you, David Zomaya Tripp Lite ________________________________ This message is for the addressee's use only. [Nut-upsuser] [EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite "Remote Shutdown" when USB cable is attached
So confused. Downloaded Ubuntu 20.04 (ubuntu-20.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso) and booted my laptop to a liveCD environment. Watched all the systems logs and plugged in. UPS did it's "REMOTE SHUTDOWN". Nothing of interest in the logs. Unplugged the USB and waited about 5m. Plugged USB back into my laptop, nothing, unplugged... Rebooted the LiveCD environment, plugged USB back into my laptop, nothing, unplugged... VERY stumped, plugged the USB cable back into my NAS, and everything is happy. I know the problem is still there. I know it's going to bite me again, but I can't seem to reliably trigger it. Very frustrating. Thoughts?
