I know this isn't exactly the right place to ask, but I figure at least *someone* on this list has done it once. I recently acquired an AP9617 web/snmp management board for my UPS. The web and telnet part of it work great. However, I can't get *anything* from the snmp interface. I've triple-checked the community name and access settings (currently are wide open). I've ensured SNMP is in fact enabled. I'd like to be able to use the SNMP interface instead of serial, as I want to free the serial port for something else. Is there a trick I need to perform to get this thing to work? Thanks. -Kelsey

Most personal firewalls default to allowing outbound TCP connections, but block UDP traffic that isn't strictly necessary (DNS, DHCP if applicable). -- - Charles Lepple

I don't remember having any problems. We have 9 of the things in use at the moment, in comms cabinets where there are no local machines to monitor the UPSes. -- Dr George D M Ross, School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh Kings Buildings, Mayfield Road, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH9 3JZ Mail: gdmr@inf.ed.ac.uk Voice: +44 131 650 5147 Fax: +44 131 667 7209 PGP: 1024D/AD758CC5 B91E D430 1E0D 5883 EF6A 426C B676 5C2B AD75 8CC5 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
