Mapstraction - Sep 2010 - getPixelRatio()

What is t he purpose of the getPixelRatio() function. I don''t see it
implemented on any providers.

The reason that I ask is that when I enabled anchor offset in
mxn.microsoft.core.js the offsets that we were using for Google were not correct
for Bing maps. My quick and dirty fix was simply to adjust the offset used in my
code to put the icon image where it needed to be on the Bing map, but if we ever
switch back to Google maps I''ll have to changes those back in my code
again.

I wondered if there was a place I should put an adjustment so the same offset
values work the same across providers, and whether that was the intended purpose
of the pixel ratio.

Hi Steve,

I believe this was a convenience function added for use with libraries such
as BDCC GEO (http://www.bdcc.co.uk/Gmaps/BdccGeo.js) for determining point
distances from polylines/routes.
As such, this is very likely to have only been implemented fro Google maps.
