Lustre users, The upcoming Lustre Training event near Denver offers a convenient forum for lustre.org discussions. There will be people attending the training who will likely want to participate, and CFS will make a conference call facility available for folks who can''t be there in person. Every member of the community has their own particular interests, goals, and expected outcomes. We already have a good idea of what some of you want to achieve with lustre.org and the possibilities are exciting. CFS hopes that many good things will emerge from our collaboration, in particular: - better coordinated and leveraged testing efforts for Lustre - a gold standard Lustre releases with predictable release schedule - accelerate Lustre roadmap development (e.g. monitoring, HPSS) Of course, we''d all like to learn a lot more about what other users are doing with Lustre and what you''d like to achieve. To this I''d like to propose the following agenda. Please include lustre-discuss in your replies, to keep the conversation open. Cheers, Peter Proposed Agenda for lustre.org Community Forum Discussions 2006-27, 28, 29 (Note: the meeting times are not yet specified, but we''ll sort that out soon.) Session 1 - 6/27; Organization and Communication - update on lustre.org beginnings - update on CFS activities since LUG - round-table discussion on lustre.org, based on the high level question: 1. What Lustre development is your organization currently engaged in? 2. What value does your organization want to derive from lustre.org (in next 24 months; in 2-3 years)? 3. What are some of the other potential key benefits to participating in lustre.org? 4. What reservations or cautions do you have regarding an open source development forum for Lustre? Session 2 - 6/28; Lustre Roadmap/Development Activities (suggested topics include:) - LLNL - Lustre monitoring tools - Myricom - Myrinet GM driver - CEA - HSM support - Bull - Lustre management tools Session 3 - 6/29; Lustre Release framework - Lustre testing - Gold standard Lustre release - Source code repository - Information management; public communication forum
