Lustre devel - Oct 2006 - High Availability for Lustre

Hi,

I currently try to implement High Availability for the MDS of Lustre. 
Therefore
I need to understand the MDS and the MDS-API in particular.

I wonder if there are any descriptions of the code of these parts 
around. Up to
now, I could only find very general descriptions about Lustre.
Any help appreciated.

Lustre has a feature named failover that helps with HA on MDS and OSTs.
You can read about it in Lustre Operations manual:

I am not sure what sort of API you have in mind, do you mean API to control
service start/stop in failover/non-failover mode?
This is also covered in the Operations Manual.
