[Logcheck-devel] Bug#353510: logcheck-database: Ignore "kernel: Device not ready...", please
Package: logcheck-database Version: 1.2.42 Severity: wishlist -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm getting messages like this: localhost kernel: Device not ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive. localhost kernel: program hwinfo is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO localhost kernel: BIOS EDD facility v0.16 2004-Jun-25, 2 devices found I don't know what's causing any of them, but they don't seem to be problems. I'm not completely sure about the second two, but I know the first is superfluous. Can these be ignored? Thanks. - -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (650, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15adp Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages logcheck-database depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.70 Debian configuration management sy logcheck-database recommends no packages. - -- debconf information: logcheck-database/rules-directories-note: logcheck-database/standard-rename-note: logcheck-database/conffile-cleanup: false -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFD9/8x5+GdyTDsrJsRAirxAKDa6grMAX8dlg2ruzKvt6l/tz3zAACeKT/h ERPEqLfvs7Uu/H06/gfOgWg=zknV -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Thanks.I've added the following rules to CVS which match the messages you provided above, they'll be included in the next release: ^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ kernel: Device not ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive.$ ^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ kernel: BIOS EDD facility v[.0-9]+ [0-9]+-\w{3}-[0-9]+, [0-9]+ devices found$ Thanks for your bug report, -- -Jamie L.
