Hi all, I have noticed that the "CONFIG_NETLINK" has been removed since kernel version 2.4.17, does this mean that we cannot use "arpd" with kernel versions 2.4.17 onwards. vishy _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/mailman/listinfo/lartc HOWTO: http://lartc.org/
independence:/usr/src/linux# grep NETLINK .config # CONFIG_NETLINK_DEV is not set Maybe this one? In menuconfig it''s called "Netlink device emulation". In menuconfig it''s called "Netlink device emulation".As per my knowledge, "Netlink device emulation" is not required in the newer kernels (2.4.x). Correct if i am wrong. Also "CONFIG_NETLINK" was last available in 2.4.16. The option in the menuconfig is called "Kernel/User netlink socket" and the "Netlink device emulation" option shows up only if you select the previous one. I have recently tried using "arpd" with 2.4.20 and 2.4.21 and felt that the kernel is not using arpd at all. Any pointer or information regarding using arpd with 2.4.20/21 will be greatly appreciated. vishy _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/mailman/listinfo/lartc HOWTO: http://lartc.org/
