Icecast - Feb 2006 - guideline for plug-in to icecast2 server

hi
	i have switch to using oddcast under window platform and now using icecastwin32
as server in this case is there any possible way to let icecastwin32 to stream
Wma? pls advise thanks you

Well, for starters, I think the "license problem" would be a major
issue in
trying to do this.  But apart from that, Windows Media streaming uses its 
own proprietory protocol (mms).  So someone would have to implement that 
before you could do anything else.

As far as I know, there are no unix programs at all that can do anything 
with Windows Media apart from decode it, and I doubt there's anyone 
interested in developing any.

Can a developer or some other Xiph person answer this?  I don't appear to

I don't actually know if there is a license problem with implementing 
WMA. Whether there is or not, WMA/WMV needs special handling for the 
format and/or mms protocol, which we are not inclined (and certainly not 
paid) to do, we are a Xiph project after all.
