Hi: I've not had any problems compiling libshout and ices2 on my debian woody system with the default autotools (I think they're automake 1.4p4 and autoconf 2.53 if memory serves). I use libogg and libvorbis 1.0 though, not current CVS. I do use libshout and ices2 cvs though. If auto* tools turn out to be a suspect, you can get packages right up to automake 1.7 under woody. I am looking for woody backports of these, or I will need to build my own, for icecast2 woody packages. However, the Debian packaging stuf is in the source tree, so if you know how to make packages, it shouldn't be any trouble.
