Icecast - Aug 2004 - Howto stream using icecast/ices bit rate peeled ogg files

Thanks.  Do you or any one have an idea about when the functionality
(ices) will be implemented?

unfortunately not, the functionality needs to work in the vorbis libs
first. As far as I understand it, you will need to build the ogg
file/stream with a peel-tuned vorbis encoder before they can be peeled
with any desirable effect. The encoder inside ices uses the vorbis libs
from xiph and v1.0 does not do that, but hopefully when the video codec
(theora) integration is sorted then this sort of thing can be worked on.

Ok, thank you. I will keep me self tuned in so that I can start working on
this when the functionality is implented.  For right now I will stick with
ices encoding multiple streams.

Hi:

Actually, if the stream were to peal to the best quality dependent on a
listener's bandwidth, the capability would have to be in icecast, surely.
