Let me put it this way: my boss wants to use icecast, and I'm a little lost on exactly what I need to set up the "playlist" for icecast. I'm starting to think ices is the thing to use but I'm still not sure. I'm quite confused by all the different "streamers", e.g. shout, ices, liveice, icedir.... [icecast] What's needed for non-live streaming of mp3 files
ices can take files from a playlist (re-encode them if you want), and then sends them on their merry way to icecast, who then distributes them to the clients with great vengeance and furious anger. hout has been retired; liveice works but is old; darkice is for live input only. There are others, check muse, etc. rock <p>ml On Saturday 27 July 2002 11:58 pm, JW wrote:> On Saturday 27 July 2002 11:47 pm, you wrote: > > On Sat, Jul 27, 2002 at 11:32:56PM -0500, JW wrote: > > > If someone could point out what I need for a simple "static" setup, I'd > > > appreciate it. > > > > To serve static files all you need is a web server.
