Gluster users - Mar 2016 - Tiering and Sharding?

How does tiering interact with sharding?   


If a volume is both sharded and tiered, and a large file is split into shards,
will the entire logical file be moved between hot and cold tiers?  Or will only
individual shards be migrated?


I didn't see this covered in the documentation.  Thanks

only shards will be migrated across the tiers. Meaning , if your
accessing only one particular chunk of a file, then only that chunk is
eligible for migration.

By the way, If possible, I would like to know more about your
configurations and testing results.
