[Gluster-users] GlusterFS Consultants & Support companies page
Hi all, Thinking of creating a "GlusterFS Consultants & Support companies" page on the website, with entries/links to the various places around which do GlusterFS support. eg supporting GlusterFS on (say) Debian, Ubuntu, Scientific Linux, etc. This would help our Community members (not running RHEL :>) to locate support services much easier. As a first thought on what such page should include: * Company name + link to web site * Countries / timezones supported * Target audience (eg enterprise, small business, etc) * General description (free form text) * Contact details (website page, person to contact, whatever) Any thoughts? Suggestions on places/people to include? Regards and best wishes, Justin Clift -- GlusterFS - http://www.gluster.org An open source, distributed file system scaling to several petabytes, and handling thousands of clients. [Gluster-users] GlusterFS Consultants & Support companies page
Despite the good intentions behind this idea I see a number of problems. Here are a couple for starters: 1 - In what order will they be displayed, bearing in mind that anyone not listed near the top is unlikely to get any benefit from such listing. 2 - Once this starts there will most likely be those who are prepared to pay/bribe for preferential listing. How will that be addressed. I'm sure the income would be appreciated but where does it end and how would it be controlled? Isn't there someone like Angie's List for contractors (though preferably not Angie's List) that does that?
