[Gluster-users] Gluster 3.1.1 Source within the Upgrade Guide
Hiya, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Glusterfs 3.1.1 source and even though I can see it within: http://download.gluster.com/pub/gluster/glusterfs/3.1/3.1.1/ It is dated: 29-Nov-2010 09:21 However, in the documentation at: http://www.gluster.com/community/documentation/index.php/Gluster_3.1_to_3.1.1_Upgrade_Guide Building from source Will be added on 11/30/10, need to test nohup under heavy load. Should I be using the source code dated '29-Nov-2010 09:21' or simply wait a little bit longer? Many thanks, Martin

[Gluster-users] How to get a gluster native client to re-read its volfile without restarting glusterd
Hi. In GlusterFS 3.1.1, short of restarting the glusterd daemon, is there any way to get a client to re-read it's volfile? I tried sending it a HUP, but while it recognized the signal, it didn't take that action. I have discovered a number of clients that weren't restarted after a change in configuration from Distribute to Replicated-Distribute, and I believe they may be the source of very frustratingly slow (up to 1 hour) file system reads on first access from a client to a GlusterFS mount point, using the Gluster native client.
