[Gluster-users] GlusterFS 1.3.10 Release Announcement
GlusterFS 1.3.10 Release: This is a minor release with some important bug fixes. If you are using "unify", you *must* upgrade your setup. No changes are required in the volume specification file or your existing storage setup. Download URL: http://ftp.zresearch.com/pub/gluster/glusterfs/1.3/glusterfs-1.3.10.tar.gz Changelog Summary: * "Bug in Unify rename operation resulting in duplicate files" is fixed. * "AFR causing a hang during server failure" is fixed. * Exporting both TCP/IP and IB-VERBS transport simultaneously works now. * Directory operations are little faster, because "opendir" looks up only on the name space cache. Regards, Gluster Core Team
* Directory operations are little faster, because "opendir" looks up only on the name space cache. Just noticed this in the 1.3.10 release announcement. I've been running patched versions of 1.3.9 for a while now to fix various problems I've come across and one issue that's cropped up since then has been a phenomenon of "invisible files" when using the unify translater. I just rolled back to 1.3.9 and suddenly all my files are showing up - I'm pretty sure that the bug that's been introduced must be related to the changes to opendir somehow preventing self-heal from working properly around these files. - Will Rouesnel

[Gluster-users] [Gluster-devel] GlusterFS 1.3.10 Release Announcement
I have updated the GlusterFS Ubuntu packaging to 1.3.10, and the latest release is now available for Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) from the Brightbox archive at http://apt.brightbox.net If you're not on a Brightbox, you'll need to import our apt repository key: wget http://apt.brightbox.net/release.asc -O - | sudo apt-key add - Packaging code is at http://github.com/NeilW/deb-glusterfs/tree/master Build PPA is here: http://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-ruby-backports/+archive GlusterFS has been uploaded to the Ubuntu REVU system and a packaging request opened on launchpad (https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/246715). If you want glusterfs in Ubuntu you need to be lobbying the Ubuntu Universe maintainers to review this package. -- Neil Wilson Brightbox

Hi Neil, I cloned your git tree of the glusterfs debian packaging and I am reviewing it right now (I posted the original Debian ITP). I don't want to conflict with your Ubuntu related efforts. What's the best practice for joint Ubuntu/Debian maintainership ? I would have set the maintainer to the alioth project and included you in the uploader group. Are there any better setups ?
