Hello freebsd-jobs subscribers, In August, 2005 we began moderating the freebsd-jobs list. The objective was to cut down on chatter and limit the posts exclusively to job postings and people seeking jobs. In moderating the list, we've deviated slightly from the list's original charter. The freebsd-jobs charter restricts postings to jobs specifically related to FreeBSD. In practice, we've expanded the scope to, approximately, "open source jobs." The rationale is that many FreeBSD people work in environments that are not exclusively FreeBSD. In some cases, there may be no FreeBSD in the environment at all, but the people doing the hiring would prefer to bring on board like-minded people. After all, the best place to effect change is from within. ;) We'd like to get some feedback on how the moderation has worked out. Chatter is obviously down, but is the content of this list what you would expect to see? If you need before and after reference material, you can find it in the list archives: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-jobs/ Please send your responses directly to me; we'll obviously reject chatter on the list. The responses will be summarized and made available for perusal. If any policy changes are made, we'll formally announce them. Thanks in advance for your thoughts. -Snow (One of the freebsd-jobs moderators.)
