Oggcodecs release 0.83.17220
----------------------------
Oggcodecs is a set of DirectShow filters for playing Ogg Vorbis, Speex,
Theora and FLAC files in Windows Media Player and other players.
This release has improved file and networking support, offered by
default DirectShow filters. More bug fixes, particularly to Theora and
FLAC, and updates for Internet Explorer's HTML5 <video> technical
preview.

* Ogg Demux filter has been changed from a source + parser filter to
just parser filter. This step allows usage of DirectShow's "File Source
(Async.)" filter which can handle files bigger than 2GB, or "File
Source
(URL)" which gives better networking support (proxy, ipv6, etc.)
* HTML5 <video> plug-in has received a couple of improvements:
- URI support given by uriparser library
- VMR9 support (instead of VMR7), this requires DirectX9
- Internet Explorer Standards mode support, instead of just Quirks
mode
- width and height basic attribute support
* Removed OGM decoding support
* Fixed playback of Theora files with big ogg pages (e.g. hi-res "Patent
Absurdity")
* Fixed #1447: common http based ogg streams broken in Vista WMP
(atleast vista 64)
* Fixed #1301: [OGGDSF] dsfOggDemux2.dll, fails for http with private ip
* Fixed #1657: FLAC 7.1 wrong mapped channels

Hello cristian. Congrats for this new release of dsShow filters. this could be a great alternative to cortado as a <video> fallback. However, for a long time I tried To use it for playing distant http files. it seems sometimes to fail and other times it starts after a long time, like it was downloading the whole file before playing it. Here is two exemple file I try to play : http://www.millebabords.org/video/HD_1900_marseille_jtregional_160110.ogv http://www.millebabords.org/video/npaMBPart1.ogg I only tried on my XPSP2/WMP11 machine which is using a squid http proxy to connect to the net (Set directly in WMP network settings) I plan to open a bug on xiph bugtracker, but at first sight , did you (and people on this list) experience such problems with New version of oggdsf? Any chance of adding support in a future version for encoding Theora directly from Directshow capable apps, rather than having to use GraphEdit? There currently isn't any easy way to create Ogg Theora videos directly on Windows without somehow using FFMPEG, which isn't legally distributable due to patent laws. I'd love to be able to export my videos from Sony Vegas directly to Theora, the way I can with audio with the Vorbis codecs.
