Ext3 users - Jul 2003 - ext3 journal size

Can it be safely resized on the fly via tune2fs or am I asking for
trouble?

Using kernel v2.4.21 and ext2progs v1.32

How can I determine what the *current* journal size is?  I'm using
e2fsprogs1.33 and tune2fs doesn't show this info.
