dovecot - Sep 2018 - Problem with envelope from in Pigeonhole after upgrade

Can you provide some instructions on how to reproduce this issue, because I
wasn't able to.

I was able to make it happen from the command line on the host that would
normally receive inbound mail for me:

echo Hello | dovecot-lda -d dave -f fred at nowhere.com

The output then appears as an email in my inbox.
