No problems here using Apple Mail. Used in 2 iMacs, 1 Power Book G4, 6 iPhones and Dovecot IMAP works with no problems at all. Two macs running mail.app, one iPhone. Both have 6 or 7 accounts, the two biggest accounts talk to a Dovecot server (box w/about 40K msgs) and a Courier server (about 20K msgs). No bizarre issues yet.
