dovecot - Sep 2007 - Dovecot connection error because of the desynchronization between a index file and it's log file

Today, i lost connection with the mail server.
I think that there are some problem with the index file and it's log file.

Following is the log for losing connection.

mail-index-sync-ext.c: line 118 (mail_index_sync_deinit_handlers):
assertion failed: (size <= synch_size)
Sep 10 11:18:04 biosoft dovecot: child 24912 (pop3) killed with signal 6
