Hi,
Its been a while since I did the last update post - so this one is going
to be a bit longer.
Distro
----------
* Updates for CentOS Linux 5/6/7 : All updates from upstream are
released into the CentOS mirror network.
* Rolling ISO media for CentOS-7 for May 2015 was released :
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2015-June/021160.html
; this is media rebuilt with the last installer, but includes all
updates released upto the 28th of May.
- Vagrant box for CentOS Linux 7 is now released :
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2015-June/021162.html
; we will try and keep these updated on a monthly cycle. CentOS 5 and 6
images are coming soon.
- There has been lots of progress on the CentOS Linux ARM efforts, on
both the v7 and the aarch64 side of things. The aarch64 ( arm 64bit
platform ) is currently in beta mode (
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/arm-dev/2015-May/000206.html ), and
has been used in vendor demos (
http://www.eweek.com/servers/cavium-system-makers-unveil-arm-based-servers-boards.html
).
- ARMv7 efforts are also moving along nicely, this effort is being run
entirely community centric. You can follow progress on the arm-dev list
at http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/arm-dev; We have a baseline
tree ready, including images for the raspberry pi2 and the cubietruck.
Its an ongoing effort with plenty of opportunity to contribute and get
involved.
- The Cloud SIG announced release for OpenStack Kilo on CentOS Linux 7
and OpenStack Juno on CentOS Linux 6 (
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2015-May/013388.html ).
Using the following three steps, any minimal base CentOS Linux 7/x86_64
install can run a complete demo cloud :
$ sudo yum install centos-release-openstack-kilo yum-utils
$ sudo yum install openstack-packstack
$ packstack --allinone

Tip: Did you know that we run a remote ipxe install service that allows
you to install any CentOS version / release very easily ? check it out
at http://boot.centos.org/ and read the info page at
