CentOS - Mar 2006 - Kernel RPM

Hi All,
    I am having the source code of kernel with patched(2.6.9). After untar
iin kernels directory . I tried to make the rpm of the kernel with changing
the extraversion in Makefile. After that i run the command "make rpm"
. I
made the kernel rpm but ii made the distribution . But it gives the kernel
panic . I made the initrd  manually  so it worked . please give me  some
idea how can i make the initrd image ...

Hi All,
          I have mailed same problem before also . I want to make the rpm
for the kernel . so i took  kernel source of bz2 format . IAfter unzipping i
applied the following commands, make menuconfig and make rpm. So it created
the RPM for kernel . But it''s not updating the grub.conf and also not
creating the initrd.img. After installing the rpm ,i have manually create
the initrd.img and and changed the grub.conf .  I want to know  some
informations  like when the initrd.img creates ??

Can anyone knows  how it can changed ??

Hi All,
   I have posted same subject  before also . i got suggestions . It
worked also .
I using source code of kernel 2.6.9( ie  is in tar format) which is
applied all the patches . I tried to make the rpm of kernel out of
this but it's not creating initrd.img .Without this  system is not
booting .  Is there any way do this ...?
